When people say, 'I couldn't foster because it would be to hard to give a dog up' We say 'How can it be harder than knowing a dog died because no foster home stepped up?' and that's why we do it time and time again.
A Dog's Prayer: "Treat me kindly, my beloved friend, for no heart in the entire world is more grateful for your kindness than mine. Don't be angry with me for long, and don't lock me up as punishment. After all, you have your job, your friends and your entertainment. I only have you."

About LOYAL Rescue Inc.

About Loyal Rescue Inc.
LOYAL Rescue Inc. is an entirely private rescue in Peterborough started by Brenda Bunn and Shirley Salter in June 2006. Our first foster home was with Connie Brown that same year.  Ingrid Czerwenka and Janet Robertson joined about a year later.  Peterborough was a good location, as there were few entities in the area that supported dog rescue and could assist that part of Ontario with the adoptions of small breed dogs.  We have now expanded to include all of Ontario and have foster homes located from Ottawa to St Thomas, Buckhorn to the north and New York to the south.  We have 3 Board Members: Brenda Bunn, Ingrid Czerwenda and Ann Jaanus.

LOYAL Rescue Inc. applied for federal incorporation as a not for profit in 2008 and were granted the status October 6th 2008.  We do not have charitable status; however, donations can be made to HHP (Helping Homeless Pets) of which we are a member, for the benefit of LOYAL Rescue Inc.  HHP is a registered charity and issues tax receipts to donors.  Donations can be made online via Canada Helps (designating LOYAL), or by cheque to HHP (clearly indicating that LOYAL is the beneficiary on the notes line).  HHP administers these funds on our behalf and upon our direction will pay veterinary expenses.  All money donated via HHP goes towards veterinary costs.

From our original Application for Incorporation - the purpose of the company

LOYAL Rescue Inc. was founded with the determination that we will help any dog in need that we can – regardless of breed, age, medical condition place of birth. Our mission is to find homes for dogs that find themselves homeless, either through abuse, neglect, being abandoned, born or living in a mass breeding facility. We feel a responsibility towards these unfortunate animals, and work to find new permanent, loving, forever homes for them.

LOYAL Rescue Inc. also works to improve the rights of dogs and to rescue them where they have been abandoned or abused by their owners. When rescued the dog will be well cared for in private homes, and fully vetted prior to adoption. When LOYAL Rescue finds a loving, caring forever home, the dog will be placed with that home.

LOYAL Rescue Inc. will share, educate and advocate for new information on and improved laws related to canine welfare. LOYAL Rescue Inc. is dedicated to helping all abused dogs and in particular rescuing dogs from Mass Breeding Operations.
LOYAL Rescue Inc. will raise funds by any lawful means whatsoever, including requesting contributions from members of the public, adoption fees of rescued animals when placed in forever homes, raffles, and private funds. LOYAL Rescue Inc. is a “not for profit” operation and all funds will be allocated to canine welfare.
