Baxter (Now Figaro) 'Figgy' update

Hello, Ladies!

I thought you all might enjoy seeing another pic of the most wonderful dog in the world!  It's now been 3 1/2 weeks and of course, I do not know what I ever did without him.  He has won my heart and the heart of everyone he comes in contact with.   I really do believe he is enjoying life to the fullest.  My neighbours just adore him and Peter, my neighbour next door is eagerly anticipating the day that Figgy will allow him to rub his wonderful coat.  He will follow Peter around for long periods of time but still shies when Peter tries to give him some physical touch.  On the other hand, there are some men, my brother in law being one, who he will run madly for as soon as he walks in the house.  At any rate, he definitely seems to be mellowing in regards to the male fears.  As for everyone else, he just loves them all, as you well know.  It is too funny to see him and my neighbours' cat sitting and just hanging together looking at each other for what seems like hours.  Every time I try to grab a picture of them together it breaks the spell so I haven't captured one yet.  We are simply having a wonderful summer getting acquainted and each day he brings more and more smiles to me.

I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful summer.  The weather has certainly been wonderful and Figgy just wants to be outside all the time.  He is a great help in the garden ;).

Baxter is going 'home'

This was Baxter's first experience with rolling in fresh cut, wet grass! LOL and he LOVED it!  So much so that it didn't take him long to figure out that he quite enjoyed 'digging' too!!!  (he was so good at on his first try, he managed to find the cable wire!) eeeek!  Oh well, it was wonderful watching him experience 'Dog Joy' for once in his young life and experience new things...  ; )

Well, it's almost that time to say goodbye to yet another foster dog who has gotten into our hearts and stayed there.  Baxter was a very 'special' case for us given his abusive history and his sweet, forgiving nature and his ability to overcome and move on.  This  makes it even harder to understand and want to love him even more. Baxter stole many hearts in the process of searching for his most perfect home.  After just a few short weeks with us, and several applications and interest later, Baxter has finally made a decision and has found his  home.   He is going to finally get all the love and attention that he deserves and was denied in his short, young life, and will be very well socialized and experience many new things along the way.  In the words of another LOYAL foster mom 'This is going to be the happiest, sad day' for all of us here.  I know he will be greatly missed, but it gives us comfort to know he will be safe, happy and much loved unconditionally! That's what keeps us doing what we do and helps us to get through the tough times in rescue.  The rewards are so great when they come.  Good luck little man; my perfect little gentleman, in your new home.  

'Baxter' on Animal Housecalls

 'Baxter' is a bichon/poodle owner surrender who is looking for his forever home.  He has been in rescue for just over a week now and has adjusted beautifully.  He's a very sweet and friendly dog, fearful of men (at first) but once he knows he can trust, he's fine.  He's house and crate trained and loves to be loved.  A very gentle and sweet boy.  Baxter has all his shots and has recently been neutered.  He is now ready to start his search for his new forever home.   Here is he with his foster sister 'Sasha' a puppy that just arrived from Mexico, on Animal Housecalls with Ann Rohmer.  LOYAL rescue is now in urgent need of volunteers and fosters homes to help with all of the incoming rescue dogs.  If you can help foster any of these dogs, or would be interested in Baxter,  please go to our website to submit an application online.  Thank you
