Update on our former foster girl Jeanie

Jeanie's last day with us before leaving for her new fantastic forever home!

So nice to hear from you.  Will send you a more detailed update with pictures later this week.  Jeanie is absolutely adorable.  Over the month and a half that she has been with us she has become more confident and has learned to love the outdoors.  She knows all of the routines, i.e. when Chuck and I are leaving and when to expect us back.  She and Belle stay pretty close together. Jeanie runs like the wind, both in the house and outdoors.  She runs so fast that sometimes she loses her balance when turning corners on the lawn and rolls over.  Her ears fly out behind her in the cutest fashion. Everyone loves her.

Jeanie is eating a combination of the medical urinary and a chicken grain free food.  Her skin is absolutely healthy and her coat is soft and shiny. We are going to continue this for a while and then have her tested for crystals. If she has crystals we will change her diet, otherwise we will probably stay with the chicken.

Jeanie's new family

Donna and John:

Just a quick update to let you know that Jeanie had a great ride home and a pretty comfortable night.  She is making friends with Belle, although she is a little tentative because Belle is so big and Belle would like to play. We see signs that this tentativeness around Belle will only be temporary.  Jeanie got home about 930 last night and spent the evening on the couch with Chuck and I watching tv and sleeping. She went outside before bed to go pee successfully and she slept in the bed all night without moving an inch.  In the morning she went with me for a walk around the gardens, did all of her business and bounced along on the leash as if she had been doing it for years. She came in all wet from the dew but it didn't seem to phase her. After this she and Belle had breakfast, both of them cleaned their dishes. Jeanie spent the next hour racing around the house between Chuck and I, her ears sailing out behind her. she gets up speed on the carpets and then slides across the linoleum in the kitchen with her wiggle bum going.

Chuck is home this morning painting the railings on the deck. Both dogs are inside looking out following his every move.

I think she is going to enjoy life with us, I know for sure we are going to enjoy her.

I'll send an update and some pictures this weekend.

JEANIE ***ADOPTED***** APRIL EASTER FUN

Finally getting to enjoy the grass!  I am discovering that I really LIKE the feel of grass on my paws!

Well,  another outing that Jeanie has mastered with great confidence and total dog joy!  Jeanie loves people and she loves everything and everyone around her.  Jeanie LOVES life!  Jeanie takes it all in with such gratitude for a second chance at life.  Jeanie has also had doggie play dates with a former Loyal foster dog of ours, Montana, and her new foster family and has also participated in an indoor doggie (small dog) play group in Toronto and did extremely well.  We are so proud of our little foster girl. Jeanie appears to be a very social and confident little girl.  A girl's girl who also loves attention and affection from people.  A very sweet, gentle, loving little dog all around.   Jeanie dreams of a forever home and family in her future.  Do you dream of a Jeanie in yours?

Welcome to Jeanie's BLOG!

After Jeanie's arrival several months ago, Jeannie is finally ready to start the search for her forever home and family.  Jeanie just needed a little confidence boosting and had to be on special diet and medication to clear up crystals in her urine.  After her last urinalysis last week, I'm happy to say that she is now crystal free.  Jeanie is still on special diet *raw* after coming off of Royal Canin Medi Cal Urinary (vet prescribed), so she will most likely need to be continually monitored for potential crystal flare ups in the future.  This could be something that she may always be prone to, we don't know for sure.  Jeanie is now posted at Loyal Rescue Incs. website.  To apply online for Jeanie, please go to:  www.loyalrescue.com

UPDATE AS OF FEBRUARY 23, 2011

We have discovered that Jeanie is quite the social little butterfly after taking her to an indoor small dog meet up with several other Loyal foster dogs, and former foster dogs.  Confident, she did her rounds going from person to person, looking for a 'pat' and some attention.  She is such a little wiggle bum!    Jeanie is great with all people and dogs.  Jeanie loves men!   Jeanie walks well on leash.  She is still working on her housetraining skills, but is coming along nicely.  She's a smart little girl.  We cannot believe that she has recently been freed from a puppy mill.  She is such a cuddle bug! and LOVES to snuggle!  Calm and quiet, she will snuggle into you all night long.

***UPDATE**  as of Feb 11/2011

Jeanie has now figured out to do 'stairs'..She only does a few at at time so far *up and down* but she is a confident, determined little girly.  She has also figured out (all by herself) how to use the 'doggie' stairs to get onto our bed!  Nothing is going to stop this precious girl from achieving her goals.  She loves her sweaters and wears them with no fuss. She's a spunky little wiggle bum!  her little 'bob' tail wiggles when she's excited to see you.  She's such an easy going girl who is very quiet.  Now onto her biggest goal yet...finding herself her most perfect fur-ever home. She will be posted up for adoption very soon.

This is Jeanie, our newest foster girl.  Jeanie was an Ohio girl.  Since Jeanie is so new to us (just arrived Sunday) we will need to get to know her a bit better before we can tell you all about her.  Stay tuned for updates in the coming days and weeks ahead. 

What I can tell you about Jeanie so far is that she is about 5 years old, she is spayed, her dental has been done, and  ALL her shot are up to date and she the most cutest, sweetest little girl I have met yet.  

Jeanie will not be ready for adoption for at least  few weeks.  She will need to be socialized, house trained and shown the way before she will be ready to go to her most perfect fur-ever home!  Stay tuned.
