Nutmeg's close up with Gotcha Photo Studios

We recently had the opportunity to have Nutmeg's photo's professionally done with an

amazing photographer Jen Ryckman Worrall of Gotcha Photo Studios.  What I love about Jen is 

that she is very supportive of rescue animals  and works tirelessly to help find them

homes, posting them on Facebook as well as her Gotcha website

.  Jen makes herself available at the drop of a hat and will travel to get the job done, as well as attends 

fundraisers in support of rescue animals, raising much needed funds.  Many very deserving rescue animals have found homes as a

direct result of Jen's photos.  Please visit her website and check out all the adoptable's looking for

Caleb jumping the gate

Here is a brief clip of Caleb jumping our 41 inch gate.  

He completely clears baby gates,

so we thought a taller gate might do the trick.  We were wrong..  LOL

Caleb will most definitely need a tall, secured, good-sized, fenced yard 

I apologize for it being filmed sideways, but I wanted to be sure

to get everything in

Caleb LOVES walks and going to the dog park,

so whenever we go out now, he panics and thinks we're 

going to the park without him.  Poor Caleb; he's so SILLY!

Caleb would be an excellent candidate for agility or fly-ball, 

anything where he can run, jump etc.  He LOVES to play with

other dogs.  Oh yeah, and did I mention he's super SMART too!

post them all together in the same post to make it easier to

see all his videos all at once.  

Caleb is a pretty amazing little dog with so much spirit and heart. 

Not a malicious bone in this little guys body...at all!  Sweetness

personified and one of the nicest temperaments we've seen in 

a foster dog, given Caleb's horrible past.  He's such a fun-

loving, forgiving little soul who overcomes pretty quick.

Nutmeg update

Well, it's been awhile since I've posted an update on Nutmeg as we were awaiting her 'heartworm negative' status...and I'm so happy no, thrilled no...over the moon ecstatic with joy to be able to announce that we now have a heartworm negative foster girl who is now ready begin her search for her forever home.  Nutmeg has waited a long time for this day to come.

Nutmeg has gained so much in confidence since she arrived in rescue that it sometimes overwhelms me with joy.  She now speaks her mind to the other dogs if they become too much and will tell them off (in a nice way)... something she never would have done before.  Nutmeg also now enjoys engaging in running, chasing and playing with her foster brothers and sisters... something else we would never have seen her do when she first came into rescue.   Her house training is almost perfect now and her favourite place to be is with her humans on the couch snuggling!  Nutmeg enjoys chewing on durable chew toys and going for walks.  This foster girl has come a very long way.

Nutmeg recently had professional photos taken and I can tell you it was confidence abound for this little girl!  A huge shout out and Thank You to Triebe Photography for the amazing work they do and for their time and dedication to working with rescued animals.  It sure is appreciated more then you know!

Ohhhh Donna...ohhh Donna..I have a girl, Donna is her name...

I have a girl...and Donna is her name.  .... Ohhhhhh, Dooooona!, ohhhh Donnna!

Welcome to Canada Donna! 

Donna arrived in Canada on February 25, 2012 and isn't looking back, only forward to a new life and future!

Donna's story:  Donna and her 3 puppies were abandoned and found outside the Humane Society in Cozumel.  This poor girl is just a young pup herself!  Her pups were all adopted out quickly, but poor Donna remained at the shelter.  I'm not sure why because she is the most sweetest and friendliest little girl. If no one in rescue stepped up to rescue Donna, then who knows what fate awaited her.  All I knew is that I couldn't let that happen.

As you can imagine, when I got the message that Donna was needing out and asking if I would I foster her, I couldn't say no.  My first thought was 'did they name her Donna on purpose?' LOL  I actually responded that if this was by design, then it worked!  I was smitten.  How could I resist this sweet girl who was passed over and not wanted   Why would anyone not want her? 

Donna as we know her so far:  No issues behaviourally that we can see.  She is approximately 15 months old, so puppy like at times; not hyper, but playful and settles nicely.  She's young, healthy and very well behaved.  She listens and responds to us really well.  From looking at Donna, it appears she could be a Yorkie x (possibly with Daschund?) but that's only a guess.  Donna is FULLY vetted and is searching for her new home and family in Canada.  Could you be Donna's new family?

Seinfeld Gang - The First Supper! (solids at 4 weeks old)

Well, it's been 4 weeks now since these little miracles came into our hearts and they are now starting to gradually  eat solid foods.  They have had one de-worming (so far) and I trimmed all of their nails last week for the first time to give mama a break from the sharp tips scratching at her belly.  They are happy and healthy and running around enjoying playing.  Their individual little personalities are now starting to emerge and it's cuteness overload!!  I can't seem to get anything else done around here since they are such a wonderful distraction.  They make me laugh and smile everyday with new antics.  They are now starting to try out solids for the first time and it's been a bit of a learning curve, but they're getting it; slowly but surely.  It will help to give mom a bit of a break too.  Mom is still nursing them, I'm just supplementing a bit to ease them into solids.  They really seem to like the 'new' taste and texture.

**Note**  They will be ready for adoption once they reach 8 weeks of age.

A foster fur-grandma's LOVE is like NO other.  Unconditional and unlimited. : ))   Saying goodbye is going to be one of the hardest things I do for these sweet angels.
