We recently had the opportunity to have Nutmeg's photo's professionally done with an

amazing photographer Jen Ryckman Worrall of Gotcha Photo Studios.  What I love about Jen is 

that she is very supportive of rescue animals  and works tirelessly to help find them

homes, posting them on Facebook as well as her Gotcha website

.  Jen makes herself available at the drop of a hat and will travel to get the job done, as well as attends 

fundraisers in support of rescue animals, raising much needed funds.  Many very deserving rescue animals have found homes as a

direct result of Jen's photos.  Please visit her website and check out all the adoptable's looking for

Nutmeg update

Well, it's been awhile since I've posted an update on Nutmeg as we were awaiting her 'heartworm negative' status...and I'm so happy no, thrilled no...over the moon ecstatic with joy to be able to announce that we now have a heartworm negative foster girl who is now ready begin her search for her forever home.  Nutmeg has waited a long time for this day to come.

Nutmeg has gained so much in confidence since she arrived in rescue that it sometimes overwhelms me with joy.  She now speaks her mind to the other dogs if they become too much and will tell them off (in a nice way)... something she never would have done before.  Nutmeg also now enjoys engaging in running, chasing and playing with her foster brothers and sisters... something else we would never have seen her do when she first came into rescue.   Her house training is almost perfect now and her favourite place to be is with her humans on the couch snuggling!  Nutmeg enjoys chewing on durable chew toys and going for walks.  This foster girl has come a very long way.

Nutmeg recently had professional photos taken and I can tell you it was confidence abound for this little girl!  A huge shout out and Thank You to Triebe Photography for the amazing work they do and for their time and dedication to working with rescued animals.  It sure is appreciated more then you know!

Nutmeg does WOOFSTOCK!

Yayyy!  We couldn't be more proud of our little foster girl then we were when we took her to Woofstock this past year to promote LOYAL Rescue Inc.!  She represented very well indeed and EVERYONE fell in LOVE with her!  How could you NOT fall in love with that sweet little face and personality to match.  I was apprehensive at first, but her foster dad insisted..she'd have him by her side to feel secure afterall.  He was right!  She not only did well, she exceeded ALL our expectations and flourished with all the attention and pats given to her.  She enjoyed is so much so that she even started to seek out the attention from everyone once she realized just how wonderful it felt! This was  Nutmeg's very first time out in public in large crowds, so to see her overcome and enjoy herself was so heartwarming.  We are so proud of you little Meg Pie! xo  : )))

I really didn't like my first Canadian Winter!  Spring is now here....and I'm enjoying this much better~

Nutmeg - what a difference a week and half can make!

Well, it's been a week and a half since we brought little Nutmeg home and she's making progress everyday..  Meg is starting to come out of her shell more and more and has now found her voice.  She will roll over willingly for belly rubs (which she just loves!) and engage some of my other dogs in play.  She just loves attention and responds really well to a happy voice. There is a confident little dog inside of her just waiting to come out and show the world just who she really is!  Nutmeg is a polite little dog who will wait her turn nicely for treats.  Nutmeg does seek comfort in other dogs and is still insecure and timid, but is trying real hard to overcome all of her fears.  She loves to be with her humans and would make a great lap dog as well. Meg is still a work in progress but is well on her way to being the dog she was meant to be!  We plan to attend doggie play dates and visits with friends & family in the weeks ahead, so stay tuned for more updates on Meg's continued progress!

Nutmeg 'Meg'

Day 1 - hours after arriving

Nutmeg 'Meg' is approx. 2-5 years old and hails from Louisiana.  She is a chihuahua/rat terrier according to her vet records, which would explain her 'larger' size. We currently have Nutmeg on a restricted and scheduled diet and she does appear to have lost a bit of weight.  She was a stray that was possibly abused.  Meg is one of the sweetest dogs you'll meet!  Very submissive and quiet.  She tries very hard to overcome her fears, so she will need to build confidence and trust humans.  Meg is good with cats, dogs and children.  Meg will need a  home that is calm and quiet due to her fears.  Children 16 and over only.   She is not yet completely house trained, so that is still a work in progress, but she's coming along really nicely.  A dog experienced home with the patience would be a plus for this sweet girl.  She will need a home with a FULLY fenced and SECURE yard because she is still prone to startling easily and could run, therefore is a potential flight risk.   Meg is also suited for apartment living given that she's a quiet dog.

'Meg'knows that her most perfect home is out there somewhere looking for her, they are still waiting to discover her!
