Nina and Rio playing at the dog park - Video

Nina and Rio enjoy going to the leash free dog park to visit their doggie friends. Here is video footage of the two of them being silly as usual. Nina really LOVES to play fetch and will indicate for you to throw the ball, again and again. They are both becoming more comfortable around bigger/giant sized dogs and Rio actually had fun chasing and being chased by a couple of Alaskan Malamutes on one visit to the park. Once they realize the dog is nice and won't hurt them, they become more comfortable and confident. They are both gaining confidence and learning so much from visiting the dog park. As you can see, they are very comfortable with playing with the smaller type dogs in the small dog area at the park. We are so proud of both of them. They truly are a Dynamic Duo!

Compilation of Fun Videos and Slide-Shows of former foster dogs

I thought I'd post a series of videos I made over the past few years of foster dogs I've fostered, past and present, for LOYAL Rescue Inc., as well as dogs that have passed through our home and furries that have visited.  I hold each and every one of them very near and dear to my heart and will never forget a single one.  This compilation of videos brings back so many cherished memories and serves to remind me of the rewards that come with fostering and saving rescued dogs and all animals alike.  I highly recommend fostering and helping dogs and all animals.  These are far from professional quality, but still a really nice keepsake to have. I hope it brings a smile to your face as it does mine (and the occasional tear) .  Enjoy!

LOYAL Rescue Inc. BBQ 2012 Video

This year when Loyal held their annual BBQ, they decided to do it a little bit differently then in previous years, and I think made it all the more special for all of us.  ALL previous adopters and former foster babies were invited. There was also live entertainment performed by the very talented Angela Evans. What a beautiful day down by the river. The dogs were so well behaved and really enjoyed the water. This was exceptionally special for us as we had the honour of taking our former foster baby, Sherman, of the Anishnabe Pups, who was rescued, along with his 7 siblings from Lac Simon, Quebec in November 2011, by ARC (Animal Rescue Corps) when they were just days old, and dubbed 'Operation Anishnabe'.  Check out ARC's Facebook Page for more photos, stories and videos of Operation Anishnabe, along with many more rescue stories. Here is a picture of Sherman and Sable's dad, named Veteran. We were thrilled to be seeing Sable, Sherman's sister at the BBQ! What an honour and privilege it was for my husband and I to have fostered them and for me to literally be their 'mum', as the family who had their mom would not surrender her to rescue along with her babies. We couldn't be more proud of how wonderful all the pups turned out and would do it again in a heartbeat. To know that we not only saved one life, but 8 little lives!  LOYAL's BBQ was also featured in SNAP Peterborough's paper    Here is a video of the BBQ that was taken by one of the volunteers.

Sherman and Sable - Sibling love like non-other *VIDEO*

I was so blessed to be asked to take care of Ms. Sable, our former foster girl

of the Anishnabe Pups, this past weekend.  All were rescued by ARC - Animal

Rescue Corps. last November 2011 in Quebec, dubbed 'Operation Anishnabe.'

'Like' them on Facebook and Share...let's support them however we can.  They do an
invaluable service to all animals anywhere and everywhere the need is.

To say culture shock is an understatement by far!  When I first took in all 8

Dane/Newf x pups, they were days old (7-10) to be more exact...and no mom.

 My husband and I, with the help of other wonderful LOYAL Rescue volunteers

 and friends, bottle fed each and every one of them for the first 4+ weeks until they

 could be weaned and started on solids.  It was truly a labour of love, multiplied!

I'd do it all over again if I had too, without hesitation.  These were 'my' babies and

I was mom this time (not just the mid-wife) as I had been previously with other litters.

A true Labour of Love...of epic proportion.  Lol  I love each and every one of them

and made sure I told them many times per day.  Well, my former foster babies

are now 9 months old and all are exceeding 100+ lbs each, except for Simon, who we

now suspect who's daddy is a 'Golden' .  They have the same mom, but could have

different daddys; however, we believe the other pups all have the same dad, given the

 circumstances they came from, and process of elimination.  I was one very happy

(former) foster mom to have Ms. Sable come to stay.  We couldn't very well have

a 'sleep over' with Ms. Sable without inviting brother Sherman, who lives only minutes

away, for a play date/reunion!  and so this is the result of that reunion and both pups

were overjoyed to see one another again.  Yes, they still do remember each other after

all this time.  As matter of fact, once Sable saw Sherman, I swear she was going to

jump through the car window! she was that excited.

Caleb and Polly playing - A fun video

Without an X-ray available in Cuba, the vets there could not X-ray his leg; However, Caleb's leg HAS been reviewed by several vets here and it has been concluded that Caleb's leg is well on the way to healing now and we should continue to let it heal. No surgical intervention is warranted. Caleb is not all hindered by this and is able to use his leg. When all of that is done, someone out there is going to be a very happy Mum or Dad, 'cause this little guy is a sweetheart.  

As you can see from the VIDEO , it certainty does not appear to hinder or stop him from enjoying life to the fullest.   Full speed ahead for this sweet little guy.

LAST Seinfeld Video - 9 1/2 weeks old

Jerry was adopted, so he is missing from this video

 Almost all my foster babies are gone and the house is a lot quieter.  I am working on a 'Seinfeld' reunion and hope to do this in the next few months once the puppies have settled into their new homes with their families.  This is a long video, but I can't help myself.  I just love each and every one of them so, so much and will miss them terribly once they are gone.  It's nice to have this video to watch and remind me just how special they are.  I look forward to Jerry (Milo), George, Kramer, Newman and Elaine updates and stories in the future and cannot wait to see how big they get as they grow and learn and how they look once full grown.  That will be very interesting given how different and individual each of them are.

The Seinfeld Puppies Playing - Almost 8 weeks old now!

This is their play pool that they go in to play when they're not downstairs in the family room or outside in our yard..  It helps to keep them safe and contained while I clean their playpen area.  They love to go exploring when they are out of their playpen and play pool!
