Back to school can be a challenging time for pets. It is that time of year when our routines change. It also changes for our pets as well, and may make them a little lonely and anxious. It can be a difficult time to transition from a care-free life to all of a sudden alone inside the house with little to do. All of this can lead to separation anxiety. How can you tell? If your dog is particularly clingy or there are signs of destruction when you get home. To help them, increase exercise activities, remember tired muscles plus a full belly equals a relaxed, sleepy pet. Often a kong type toy will entertain them for awhile when you are away.
One of our major fundraising events is coming up this fall at Winter Woofstock November 19 and 20, 2011 at the Energy Centre in Toronto. I hope you are able to come and visit us at our booth.
If you are not able to come but would like to make a donation, please use our umbrella rescue group "Helping Homeless Pets" and use their secure website to receive a tax receipt. http://www.canadahelps.org/CharityProfilePage.aspx?CharityID=s98871. Choose "DONATE NOW", and then select LOYAL Rescue from the Fund/Designation drop-down menu (this step is incredibly important as any funds sent to HHP without choosing LOYAL from the list will not be forwarded to us). Complete the remainder of the page and a tax receipt will be issued at the end of your transaction. Monies will be directed to cover veterinary costs for LOYAL Rescue Inc. Of course you can send us a donation through the mail as well at LOYAL Rescue Inc., 171A Rink Street, Suite 199, Peterborough, ON, K9J 2J6.
Please visit our website www.loyalrescue.com to see all our latest dogs. Thank you for your support as it is only with your help we can continue to save more dogs.
