When people say, 'I couldn't foster because it would be to hard to give a dog up' We say 'How can it be harder than knowing a dog died because no foster home stepped up?' and that's why we do it time and time again.
A Dog's Prayer: "Treat me kindly, my beloved friend, for no heart in the entire world is more grateful for your kindness than mine. Don't be angry with me for long, and don't lock me up as punishment. After all, you have your job, your friends and your entertainment. I only have you."

Senior Dog Rescue: Adopting an Older Dog

I found this great write up on Senior Dog Rescue: Adopting an Older Dog:  about older dogs and it points out a different perspective to owning an older dog, the positive side of owning an older dog verses a younger dog. Something to consider before getting a dog.  Senior dogs are just as wonderful to have as younger dogs, they are wonderful in different ways; sometimes for the better depending on your lifestyle, energy level, activities, preferences.  Young dogs and puppies are NOT for everyone.  Sometimes a more senior dog is a better 'fit' for your home and family.  Have a look and see if it changes your mind about older dogs.  It's very informative and a great read.  Check it out!   It might save an older dogs life.
