When people say, 'I couldn't foster because it would be to hard to give a dog up' We say 'How can it be harder than knowing a dog died because no foster home stepped up?' and that's why we do it time and time again.
A Dog's Prayer: "Treat me kindly, my beloved friend, for no heart in the entire world is more grateful for your kindness than mine. Don't be angry with me for long, and don't lock me up as punishment. After all, you have your job, your friends and your entertainment. I only have you."

Silly Puppy Love

I discovered a few things about my little foster babies this past weekend.

For one, Scotlund has a hair fetish and loves playing with my hair!  Sierra has a foot fetish and loves playing (kissing) my feet!  AND the most wonderful thing to happen...Sable smiled at me!!!!  : ))  (the BIGGEST, most prettiest smile) when I rubbed her belly!  I also discovered how I can get everyone's attention and make ALL of them to come to me...ALL at once....I simply give a  'kissy' sound and they come running like a herd of elephants, every time, without fail!  They cannot resist!

Simon is very lighthearted and doesn't seem to take himself too serious.  He's the goofy one who is full of beans!  There is not a mean bone in this boys body.  Simon is very easy going and also a sensitive boy, just like his much BIGGER brother, Sherman.

It would seem that Sarge is quite taken with his BIG mama, pack leader and can get jealous when I give the others attention, or more attention then I'm giving him.  He will try to get my attention by tugging on my clothes or pawing at me to let me know he's there too.  Sarge is a very sweet boy who will make someone a wonderful GIANT lap dog (if he's given the chance to)  Sarge loves laps!  LOL   Seriously though, I can see Sarge being a LOYAL companion dog as he just loves to be with his humans.

Sapphire is proving to be much like her smaller sister Satin and she doesn't take any crap from anyone and will 'speak' her mind, so to speak...LOL    She's a spunky, confident little girl who is also very sweet.

Satin is proving to be a little firecracker for the small one in the bunch.  She is fearless and takes risks without much fear, which is wonderful to see!  She was the first one to take on the stairs for the first time, both up and down...and despite a little tumble the first time out, she got right back up, brushed herself off and went right back to what she was doing as if nothing happened.  That a girl Satin!!  Another thing I noticed about Satin this weekend was that she doesn't take any crap from her BIGGER brothers, not at all!

Sherman is very laid back and more calm compared to his siblings.  He's steadfast in his temperament, gentle and very sweet; another boy who will make someone a wonderful Loyal companion dog.  Sherman has shown himself to also be a very sensitive BIG boy. ; )

All of the puppies love people. We have been socializing them quite a lot around people and other dogs, (cautiously of course) and they have been very receptive to all the fuss!

  2. Yeppers, both Sherman and Sapphire have homes to go to in the New Year!  Expecting more approvals in the very near future.  I cannot believe the overwhelming interest in these beautiful babies and really great homes too!  So thrilled with where all of them will be going.  It's been a crazy few weeks.  I'm gonna miss ALL of them terribly and I'm in love with each and every one of them to infinity, and beyond! LOL  Oh Mel, they'd melt your heart for sure.  They are so funny now; their little personalities are coming out they make me laugh every day.  I always look forward to seeing them first thing in the morning and I spend a lot of time with them socializing them.  They love everybody....kids, cats, other dogs, people...you name it, they've done really well and I'm so pleased with their development and progress considering they don't have their fur-mama.  They are so smart as well, but that could just be me being partial ; )  ...  I would definitely keep at least one of them if I could.  I miss my BIG dogs so it's nice to have this opportunity to foster BIG dogs and to help these very precious and sweet dogs.    Their 'LOYAL' and 'devoted' side are starting to come out and ALL of them stick together....and to ME! at my feet, following me around etc.  They are always watching me.  Very pack mentality/minded.  I love that!  I'd do it again if the opportunity came up again and it was needed. A lot of work, but very rewarding.  Thanks Mel!  : )
